FORMER MAYOR OF LONDON Boris Johnson will be our guest speaker at a special fundraiser on Friday 1st July at Great Fulford near Dunsford.
Tickets for this event are disappearing fast but some are still available by contacting our office on 01392 823336 or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. Tickets are £40 per person or £15 for Conservative Future members, and include a three-course buffet-style dinner and glass of wine on arrival. Guests should arrive by 7.15pm and will only be admitted with their ticket. Central Devon MP Mel Stride will be in attendance and will also speak.
Mr Johnson served as MP for Henley from 2001-2008, serving in the Shadow Cabinet as Minister for Culture, Communciations and Creative Industries and then for Higher Education under Michael Howard and David Cameron. He stood successfully for the London Mayoralty in 2008, defeating incumbent Ken Livingtstone and defeated the same opponent again in 2012. Key achievements during his two terms were in transport (both improving the underground system and his cycling revolution), the successful delivery of the 2012 Olympic Games and championing the city’s financial sector in the aftermath of the recession.
